Deadlines

Ad content must be submitted to the Trenton Journal a minimum of three business days prior to the publication date. If an image file or ad content is inconsistent with the Trenton Journal’s ad specs, the ad will be returned to the advertiser for modification. While we will always do our best to ensure your ad runs properly, if content is submitted late or incorrectly, the advertiser is at risk of having their ad not run or run as is.

Proofs

A screenshot of your ad will be sent for approval a minimum of one day before publication of our newsletter. If no response is received from the advertiser, the ad will be considered approved and will be published as is.

Best Practices

โ—ฆ Limit text on your ad image, make sure there is no more than 30% of the image with text.

โ—ฆ Limit the number of logos on your advertisement. Aim for one to two logos at most.

โ—ฆ Ad should contain a single, simple action for customers to take. For example, “Get Your Tickets Here!” or “Learn More”.

A screenshot of your display ad will be sent for review once the display is live. Link tests will be done internally. Ad content can be updated at the request of the advertiser once a month.


Content Underwriting

All underwritten content will be included in perpetuity on the Trenton Journal website, each article will also be featured in one newsletter.

Format

Transparency is important to the Trenton Journal, all underwritten content will be labeled as such and will include sponsor recognition at the top and bottom of the article. As a content underwriter, you will not be involved in the creation of any editorial content.

Deadlines

Underwritten content topics must be approved in advance to ensure the Trenton Journal has the capacity to execute.

Proofs

As a content underwriter, you will be financially supporting independent editorial coverage without being involved in the actual development of content. Because of this, you will not receive proofs on anything besides the sponsor recognition at the top and bottom of the page.

Best Practices

โ—ฆ Include a UTM with your link that is unique to each underwritten content article.

โ—ฆ Include the Trenton Journal logo on your website to promote your community involvement and help us expand our reach.

โ—ฆ Share the underwritten content on your social media channels.


Sponsored Content

All sponsored content will be included in perpetuity on the Trenton Journal website. Each article will also be featured in one newsletter issue.

Format

To clearly distinguish sponsored content from regular editorial content, articles will be labeled as “Sponsored” and will include recognition in the footer of the article. Submit your logo and a link to be included with all sponsored content.

Deadlines

Any content written by a sponsor must be reviewed and edited by the Trenton Journal prior to publication to ensure alignment of values and a consistent voice. Sponsored content topics must be approved in advance.

Sponsored content articles must be submitted to the Trenton Journal a minimum of one week before the publication date.

Proofs

A final draft of the sponsored content will be submitted to the sponsor two business days prior to the publication date. If no response is received from the advertiser by the end of the day, the article will be considered approved and will be published.
