A Day of Movement Returns to the Capital City

A Day of Movement attendee putting in work

The movement that inspired (and still inspires) many to move – the natural way,  is making its way to New Jersey’s capital city again. Slated as the ‘ANNUAL’, due to its longstanding history in the borough of Harlem, New York, this world-renowned fitness event and program will be showcased live on Saturday, July 19th at Monsignor Lipinski Park. The high-energy event begins at 11 am with a full day of exercise, physical fitness, mental health, and wellness-focused activities lasting until 6 pm.

DAY OF MOVEMENT is the brainchild of New York native Hassan Yasin, the founder and  CEO of BARTENDAZ. The idea for bringing this event to the local stage came about as a ‘marriage of movements’ was discussed and soon after created with Trenton native Divine Allah, who co-founded MiNDBODY ACTiViSM and now directs the homegrown non-profit, Community Of Wellness, Cultural Resource Center, Inc.

The purpose of this event is to get people (especially families) outside, back to nature, and expose them to those who are serious about creating and maintaining a culture of health via exercise and physical fitness right where they are. Hosted by a collective of fitness professionals and business owners who bring a wide range of expertise to the seemingly low-key fitness arena in the inner city, this will be the go-to event for everything health on a mid-summer day.

A Day of Movement takes place at Monsignor Lipinski Park on July 19th

“We believe every attendee will be fully engaged and most definitely will leave with something  that inspires them to take charge of their health,” states Divine Allah. “There’s a reason why we  chose this park, which we now call Nature’s Gym – – it’s because of the immediate communal  backdrop and the sanctuary-like setting the park offers when people come to play with their  children, play sports, meditate, or move.”

Organizers of the DAY OF MOVEMENT say it is and will be exactly that. A day that will bring various aspects of movement and fitness education to the forefront for the entire community.  Every level and type of fitness activity will be offered, including functional aging exercise for elders and senior citizens, blood pressure screening, yoga, nutrition awareness, Zumba, and more.
