City of Trenton Introduces Citi-Stat Initiative to the Community

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the City of Trenton, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA), held its first public meeting to launch the new monthly CompStat/Citi-Stat Program. The program allows residents to meet with City Department Heads each month to address quality-of-life concerns or any other issues in the city.
The meeting featured a presentation by Mayor W. Reed Gusciora, DCA Local Assistance Bureau Chief Rick Richardella, Business Administrator Maria Richardson, and Dr. Marissa Levy of the Stockton University Criminal Justice Program, followed by a public forum to encourage community input.
The initiative’s launch brought together city leaders, community members, business owners, and residents for a focused discussion on how the city can improve government efficiency, accountability, and service delivery. The program is designed to facilitate collaborative problem-solving, support informed decision-making, and ensure that Trenton residents receive high-quality public services.
“This collaboration between DCA and the City marks a turning point in how we engage with concerns and hold ourselves accountable,” said Mayor Gusciora. “When residents raise concerns, they deserve to know they’ve been heard and that action is being taken. This is a step toward building public trust and strengthening communication.”
Each monthly meeting will provide a platform for residents to voice their concerns to the City Department Director. Complaints received at the meeting will require the Directors to follow up with the resident within 48 hours.
“The first Citi-Stat meeting marks a step forward in our efforts to improve transparency, measure performance, and engage residents in the work of local government,” said Business Administrator Richardson. “With over 40 residents in attendance, this session reflects our commitment to increasing public participation and using data to inform decision-making. Through Citi-Stat, we aim to enhance the delivery of public services and ensure we are serving Trenton residents in the responsive and effective manner they deserve.”
