Mill Hill Garden Tour Celebrates its 34th Year in Trenton’s Most Historic Neighborhood

Now entering its 34th consecutive year, residents in the historic neighborhood will swing open their gates and invite people to come in to see the possibilities of summer entertaining in Mill Hill gardens. This year’s tour will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 12 PM -5 PM.  The self-guided tour begins at Artworks, located at 19 Everett Alley and South Stockton Street.

Tickets for the Mill Hill Garden Tour are $20.00 online or in person at Artworks on the day of the event. Advanced sale tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/3H48RPx or at ticket sale locations listed on the website. The proceeds of from the Tour help fund the Old Mill Hill Society Neighborhood Restoration Grant program that aids property owners in restoring and maintaining the landmark and historic features of the neighborhood.

While the streetscape in historic Mill Hill presents a unified façade of row houses, every backyard garden is unique and special. The gardens featured on this year’s tour will give visitors glimpses of what is creatively possible in urban spaces. In these 19th century houses, a mix of old and new molds seamlessly into one. “We’re very lucky to have so many neighbors who enjoy urban gardening and who work together to exchange ideas, best practices, and pool resources to help each other grow an array of lush greenery and fresh vegetables every year,” said Old Mill Hill Society President Simran Riar.  “The Garden Tour is a great way to share ideas with the rest of our capital city and with visitors from neighboring communities. It truly is the beauty of working together to grow something beautiful.”

This year, the Mill Hill Garden Tour is happening concurrently with the Trenton Pride Festival, occurring in nearby Mill Hill Park, beginning at 12 pm.
