Austin Edwards to host fourth annual expungement and resource fair

On Saturday morning, Austin Edwards — attorney, former Trenton NAACP President, and candidate for Mayor of Trenton — will host his fourth annual Expungement and Resource Fair for Trenton-area residents at Saint Phillips Baptist Church in Hamilton.
The free, one-stop shop expungement fair will offer on-the-spot expungement for eligible records. Over the last three years, the fairs have helped more than 500 residents expunge their records and access other services.
The fair will also offer voter registration, assistance with personal finances and credit, and enrollment in Mercer County social service programs. Representatives from the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Big Brother/Big Sister, and Narcotics Anonymous are expected to be on site to assist attendees.
“Everyone deserves a second chance. Once you’ve paid your debt to society, you shouldn’t have to keep paying with a record that holds you back,” said Austin Edwards. “This fair is about giving power back to the people. The worst day of your life shouldn’t stop you from getting stable housing, a good job, or an education. We all need to look out for each other, so we’ll be at the church until everyone gets the help they need. If you’re in the Trenton area, please stop by!”
The event is open to any New Jersey resident. No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome.
