Mercer County designer and hairstylist team up for this unique art event inspired by pop culture icons
Designer Shahedah Williams, president and founder of The Butterfly Ave. and Mara Salonika, celebrity hairstylist have joined forces to create For The Culture Art Show, an event highlighting hair and fashion inspired by some of the culture’s most influential pop icons. The event is being held on Friday, March 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mercer Community College Trenton Hall. Guests will enjoy conversation and spoken word from artists throughout the Mercer County area. Proceeds will go directly to Prom Scholar Inc. which is a Trenton-based nonprofit that offers a unique prom experience to high school students headed to college. The Prom Scholar provides select graduates with a custom made gown, and professional makeup and hair styling. The chosen individuals will also receive money toward the much needed necessities for their first year of college. The For The Culture event will double as a fundraiser to aid in raising money for Prom Scholar. Sold out! Passage Theatre presents Clean Slate: A World Premiere Musical.
Theatre, anyone? Passage Theatre at the Mill Hill Playhouse is the place to go if you love live theatre. Clean Slate: A World Premiere Musical is a co-production with Passage Theatre and Rider University. The production just announced on their Facebook page that all four performances are sold out. However, it’s still possible to grab an unclaimed ticket at Will Call 10 minutes before showtime, as they will be re-released to the public. You must be at the Mill Hill Playhouse in person to claim those tickets. A wait list has also been created for each performance. The musical recounts the story of a group of disaffected high school students who are sent to a rehabilitation camp that may be haunted by souls of former campers who have gone missing. Music and lyrics are by Kate Brennan, book is by David Lee White, directed by C. Ryanne Domingues, with musical direction by Louis Danowsky. So make sure you get down to the Mill Hill Playhouse to score tickets to the city’s latest, hottest musical.

Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County returns for 2023 with Back to the Future: A Garden Symposium
Do you have a green thumb and are looking forward to creating your spring garden? On Saturday, March 11th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., join Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County for the return of their popular kickoff to the gardening season event, Back to the Future: A Garden Symposium, at the Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, NJ. The day will consist of sharing knowledge with other gardeners, enjoying floral displays, listening to speakers, and eating great food. Registration is required. On Sunday, March 12th at 9:00 a.m., join in on the excitement and energy at CURE Insurance Arena while watching the amateur athletes of USA Wrestling.
