Princeton Porchfest 2023

Presented by Arts Council of Princeton, the Princeton Porchfest is back for its second year. Porchfest is a walkable music festival in which neighbors offer their front porches as concert venues. Local performers will play rotating sets throughout the neighborhood, while residents stroll from porch to porch enjoying the live music. Capital Area YMCA

Capital Area YMCA presents: Healthy Kids Day

On Saturday, April 29 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., at the Capital Area YMCA (431 Pennington Ave.), the Y will be holding their Healthy Kids Day. The event is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. The free event, hosted by YMCAs all over and their communities, will offer a day of fun activities for kids. The day will include:

  • Door Prizes
  • Family-friendly fun activities
  • Health screenings & mental well-being assessments
  • Financial education seminars
  • Sports demonstrations & clinics
  • Community needs assessments
  • SNAP information & enrollment opportunities

Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market

Spring’s in full bloom! Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County is having their annual Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market on Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County is a volunteer educational outreach program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Master Gardeners participate in many volunteer programs throughout the County.

The expo, which will occur rain or shine, will be held at the Mercer Educational Gardens, on the grounds of Mercer County Stables. This year’s event will feature hone-grown perennials, trees, and shrubs from the gardens of Rutgers Master Gardeners and a garden market with select vendors.

This year’s vendors are Steven Kristoph Nursery, Millstone Township; Shannon’s Nursery, Doylestown, Pa.; Byrne Farm Market, Wrightstown; and Chickadee Creek Farm, Pennington. Additionally, the Master Gardeners are welcoming Moon Shot Farm of East Windsor, as a new vendor.

Come out and meet these vendors, and purchase a variety of native plants, woody ornamentals, veggies, herb, cut flowers and more. Visitors will also have the chance to have all your gardening questions answered.

Mercer County just released their nature programs at Tulpehaking Nature Center at 157 Westcott Ave. Hamilton for the month of May, and there are plenty of activities for people of all ages. From Girl Scout Day, to guided walks and standing yoga, Mercer County residents will surely find a program to help them enjoy the outdoors. Capital Singers of Trenton Present I, Too, Sing America

Capital Singers of Trenton and Capital Singers of Trenton Women’s Ensemble presents I, Too, Sing America on Sunday, May 7th at Sacred Heart Church at 4:00 p.m.

Special guests include Absalom Jones Inspirational Choir and Elmwood Concert Singers. Guests can expect to hear the following selections:
