Trenton welcomes Philadelphia tech startup

From Philadelphia to the Capital City, MyMonitor.AI is making Trenton its home. Founder and CEO Charles Mbata celebrated the opening of the company’s new downtown headquarters alongside Mayor W. Reed Gusciora and community partners.

Trenton welcomed its newest business on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as Mayor W. Reed Gusciora joined company officials and community partners for the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of MyMonitor.AI’s new headquarters at 1 West State Street in downtown Trenton.

The arrival of the healthcare technology startup represents more than the opening of another business. It is a tangible result of Trenton’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and the work of the Novella Center for Entrepreneurship’s Conscious Venture Lab (CVL), a business accelerator established in the Capital City to mentor entrepreneurs, nurture startup businesses, and encourage economic growth.

MyMonitor.AI, previously based in Philadelphia, made the decision to relocate to Trenton after participating in the inaugural Trenton cohort of the Conscious Venture Lab accelerator program.

“This is exactly the kind of economic development we want to encourage in Trenton,” said Mayor Gusciora. “We’re not just welcoming a new business. We’re seeing the results of an entrepreneurial program that introduces emerging companies to our city, helps them develop their ideas, and gives them a reason to put down roots here. MyMonitor.AI could have established its headquarters elsewhere, but it chose Trenton. That’s something worth celebrating.”

MyMonitor.AI is a healthcare technology company developing artificial intelligence and clinical information systems to support medical research, healthcare delivery, and life sciences. Its technology seeks to help healthcare professionals and researchers organize and use clinical information more effectively, including patient records, medical imaging, and research data.

Founder and CEO Charles Mbata established the company in part to address disparities in access to dermatological care.

The company’s connection to Trenton began in October 2025, when MyMonitor.AI was selected as one of 13 businesses to participate in the inaugural Trenton cohort of the Novella Center for Entrepreneurship’s Conscious Venture Lab. Four of the participating businesses were already headquartered in Trenton, while others, including MyMonitor.AI, came from outside the city.

The accelerator provides a 14-week program of entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and business development support at no cost to participating entrepreneurs. Its mission includes helping emerging businesses develop sustainable business models, strengthening local startup ecosystems, and encouraging investment and economic opportunity in cities such as Trenton.

Trenton is open for innovation! Mayor W. Reed Gusciora joined MyMonitor.AI founder and CEO Charles Mbata and community partners on October 13 to celebrate the opening of the healthcare technology startup’s new headquarters at 1 West State Street in downtown Trenton.

For MyMonitor.AI, that introduction to Trenton ultimately became a permanent business decision.

“That experience introduced us to Trenton’s growing entrepreneurial community and helped establish our connection to the city,” said MyMonitor Corporation Founder and CEO Charles Mbata. “Since graduating from the program, we’ve made tremendous progress. Most importantly, we’ve decided to make Trenton our home.”

Mayor Gusciora noted that attracting emerging businesses, particularly in technology and other innovative industries, is an important part of building a more diverse local economy.

“Technology and innovation don’t have to be concentrated in Silicon Valley or major metropolitan centers,” Gusciora added. “They can take root right here in Trenton. The Conscious Venture Lab is helping entrepreneurs see the potential of our Capital City, and MyMonitor.AI’s decision to establish its headquarters downtown demonstrates how those connections can translate into new business investment.”

The opening at 1 West State Street also adds another business presence to downtown Trenton as the City continues its efforts to encourage commercial activity, entrepreneurship, and the productive use of downtown office and commercial space.

The City of Trenton welcomes MyMonitor.AI and looks forward to the company’s continued growth as part of the Capital City’s business community.
